WELNESS
To keep this a safe
and healthy environment, do not bring children who have these symptoms:
Please don't drop
off your child in my care with these symptoms -- I have the right to refuse to care for a sick child. Children must
be symptom free for 24 hours to return to daycare. In some cases a Dr's note of authrization to be allowed back into daycare
may be requested by the provider.
SUBSIDY PROGRAMS
Subsidy programs are
gladly accepted. Parents whose children qualify for subsidized care must have full approval in place prior to attendance. Proof of qualification must be presented to provider prior to registration. Any
fees not covered by subsidy are the parent's responsibility. Parent co-pays are to be paid every week (pending type
of co-pay). .
DISCIPLINE
No child will be handled
roughly, shamed, or humiliated. No corporal punishment will be used even at the
request of parents. An appropriate time out will be given according to the age of the child (one minute per year).
PHILOSOPHY
Each
child is accepted, loved, nurtured, and taught as an individual. Every child
has his/her own rate of physical development and own pace of learning. My goal
is to…
- Provide a safe place for children to play, create, and learn.
- Encourage and build each child’s imagination and creativity.
- Instill a sense of self worth and encourage self confidence.
- Provide activities and an environment that will nurture the child’s self esteem.
- Every child is guided through the day with positive reinforcement in all activities, always is encouraged
to try again, and is never pressured into participation of any activity.
- Discipline is always handled on this belief: The child is
a good person – it is his/her behavior that is unacceptable and needs to be guided to a more acceptable means of expression.
- Children will be encouraged to learn to help, share, use manners, and become responsible for their
actions.
- Above all else, as your child care provider, I will do my best to help your child gain and keep a
positive self image.
While
in my care your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, which promote all aspects
of development. Family childcare provides for children the comfort and experience
of belonging to an extended family.
I provide
a home like setting; therefore I do not follow a strict routine. My approach
to childcare is child centered and child directed. Children are offered choices
whenever possible.
There
will be some days your child will be bringing home papers, but there will also be days that your child does not bring home
any papers. It will depend on the activities that we are doing. Just because you are not seeing anything in the way of papers does not mean that we have not been busy
all day.
Much of
our learning is done with hands on things like playing, magnets, books, baking, etc…
